Vegan Broccoli Recipes FAQ
There are many ways to prepare your broccoli that deliver extra crispy results! For an easy, low-oil method, try roasting, pan frying, or grilling with your favorite marinade and seasonings. You can also bread and fry broccoli in a dish like tempura or bang bang broccoli.
For steamed broccoli that retains its vibrant green color and light crunch, fill your steamer pot with about 1 inch of water and steam the broccoli for 7 to 10 minutes until bright green and just tender. You can also blanch the broccoli after steaming by running it under cold water to halt the cooking process.
The healthiest way to cook broccoli is any way that retains its nutrients and does not add excess salt, fat, or sugar. Experts agree that steaming meets these requirements and is the healthiest way to cook broccoli. Other healthy methods include baking, sauteing, or simply eating it raw.
